palawa kipli is presenting two yula / mutton bird masterclasses, at Pangaea festival 2023.

Kitana is a proud young palawa women who is delighted to showcase her cultural foods through her cooking, while also educating the wider community about the importance of mutton birding for the palawa community today and its history.

Muttonbirding is one of Lutruwita / Tasmania’s oldest living cultural practices to date with many palawa commercial operating businesses, harvested and processed on surrounding islands of Lutruwita.

This masterclass is a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn, share stories and taste this unique cultural dish presented / cooked by palawa people.
